Black & white printing from these computers is $.10 a page.
All users must abide by the library’s computer use policy.
Internet access at the Rogersville Public Library allows the library to provide information beyond the boundaries of the materials collection. All patrons have greater accessibility to ideas and information through the Internet. The RPL does not monitor and has no control over the information accessed through the Internet. The library cannot be held responsible for Internet content. The Internet may contain controversial, inaccurate or inappropriate material, but it is not the responsibility of The RPL staff to restrict access to information.
Public Library computers are to be used for:
  • Reference and research
  • Creation of documents
  • Correspondence with others using web-based email
Patrons must produce a valid Library card or drivers license and have no over due material or outstanding fines on their record to use library computers. Visiting non-residents may use Library computers with permission of Staff members. Patrons are required to have a signed Internet use form on file.
Patrons use the Internet at their own discretion. Parents and guardian of minor children are responsible for their children’s use of the Library’s Internet connection. Net Nanny, Internet filtering software has been installed on library computers to comply with Federal law. No software is completely reliable filtering inappropriate material. The parent or guardian must sign an Internet Use sheet - giving children under the age of 16 permission to access the Internet. An adult must accompany children under the age of 12 during Internet use. Library staff members are not responsible for children left unattended. Children left unattended will be asked to leave the computer area.
Work sessions are limited to 30 minutes unless no one is waiting to use the computer. Patrons are asked to be aware of their time and be prepared to exit the workstation when others are waiting. Reservations may be made to use a workstation by calling the circulation desk at 247-0151. The patron reserving the workstation must be the actual person using the workstation.
